Born as the daughter of Oscar winner Jon Voight and actor Marcheline Bertrand on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, California, Angelina Jolie Voight was raised by her mother since her parents divorced in 1976. She made her debut as a child artist in her father’s movie, Lookin’ to Get Out.Hailing from a middle class family, and wearing used clothes, Jolie was the centre of sarcasm at her school. Since childhood, she had interest in modeling and her dreams were always turned down. She graduated from Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and in the middle of her acting career, took up filmmaking and writing classes at the New York University.After several attempts, Jolie entered modeling at the age of 14, and appeared in some music videos and acted in some theatrical plays. Her acting career started with the 1993 movie Cyborg 2. Her performance in the biographical film George Wallace in 1997, even won her a Golden Globe and Emmy award nomination. Returning to acting after a year’s gap, there was no looking back for Jolie, which won her 2 more Golden Globes and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the 1999 film Girl Interrupted.Angelina Jolie is famous for her extreme charitable measures and humanitarian activities, and is the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Like her, Angelina Jolie tattoos are famous too.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt fell in love at the sets of their movie, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2005. Initially, the duo denied rumors of having an affair, despite getting clicked together in the public. Later, Brad Pitt divorced his wife, actress Jennifer Aniston. Jolie later admitted that she could not face herself in the mirror for falling in love with a man who was cheating on his wife, like how her father cheated on her mother. The couple lives together and has three biological children, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, and three adopted children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt sued the UK tabloid “New of the World” in February 2010, for reporting that the duo has decided to split.

Taking Lives

Taking Lives is a 2004 thriller directed by D.J Caruso, starring Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke, based on a novel of the same name. The movie was marketed with the tagline “He would kill to be you”. The film received mixed reviews from the audience and was critically reprimanded even though famous critic, Roger Ebert gave it three star rating. The movie received a US gross $32,682,342 and $65,470,529 worldwide. Angelina Jolie received nomination for the worst actress for the Razzie award.
