Bathtub Installation – Stylish Proprotions for a Cozy Bath

A successful bathroom installation depends on the strength of the floor and the plumbing connection. The drains should be in the right places and the faucets must be properly attached.

Bathtub Installation - Clean and Measure the Tub Space

Homeowners who are confident about their carpentry skills do not need to hire a professional to do a bathtub installation. The task begins with the selection of the bath tub. It is important to take the necessary measurement of the actual space that will be occupied by the tub. Remove the plumbing attachments from the old tub, before the bathtub installation. Water supply must also be shut off. Once the old tub has been removed, clean the niche and the entire area thoroughly. Allow it to dry completely. Slide in the new tub making sure that the drains are properly aligned. The tub must fit evenly in the space. Attach the faucets and apply the caulk.

Bathtub Dimensions - Customized or Standard Tub

A successful installation is highly dependent on the precise bathtub dimensions. There are various types of tubs for different types of spaces. Consider the size of the bathroom before determining the exact bathtub dimensions. The general measurement for a standard tub is 60 inches wide, 30 inches deep and 14 inches tall. For tubs that will be placed in the garden it has to be 42 inches deep, 60 inches wide and 24 inches tall. If the tub will also be the shower area then it should be 30 inches deep, 60 inches wide and 72 inches tall. The tubs can be made of fibreglass, steel, cast iron, marble and acrylic.

Bathtub Sizes - Design and Space Availability

There are many factors to consider when choosing from the available bathtub sizes. The most important consideration is the bathroom space. If there is enough room then a stylish free standing tub is a good option. If the space is not too big then a corner tub will be most practical. And while there are different bathtub sizes available, a standard tub must be able to hold 42 gallons of water. The tubs can also be customized to match the bathroom interiors or the limited space. If the room is large enough then an oversize tub can give the user more room to stretch and relax.
