Blackpool, a seaside town located in North West England, is one of the most visited holiday destinations in the region. This town amuses the enthusiastic visitors with its display of beautiful beaches, historical landmarks and many amusement parks.


Blackpool Attractions - The Amusements in the Beach Town

One of the major Blackpool attractions that shouldn’t be missed by a tourist is the Blackpool Tower. The famous Eiffel Tower in Paris inspires the design of this 518 feet long tower. The renowned Tower Ballroom and Tower Circus, finds a place at the foot of the tower, along with many other entertainment avenues. From the top of this tower, one can also enjoy the city in its all grandeur when it is lit up during the annual illumination, which is held from September to November every year. The Madame Tussaud’s Waxworks, which is wax museum that displays the models of celebrities, is also worth a visit. Another of the famous Blackpool attractions is the Stanley Park, which features many gardens, lakes, golf courses and sports arenas. If you wish to get a better look at the marine life in the region, you can plan a visit to the Blackpool Sealife Center. Animal lovers can also visit the Blackpool zoo that houses more than over 1000 species of birds and animals.

Blackpool Beach - Offering a Breathtaking Scenery

One of the main tourist attractions of Blackpool is its long stretch of sandy beaches. A famous Blackpool beach, which is thronged by tourists is the privately managed Blackpool Sands. Apart from lazing around at the beachside, visitors over here can also involve in activities like kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boarding. Situated alongside the Blackpool beaches are the 3 famous piers, namely the North Pier, South Pier and Central Pier. While the North and Central Piers house many shopping arcades, the South Pier plays host to the magnificent Pleasure Beach Theme Park. This theme park which features variety of rides, is seen to be a favorite destination for the young and the old alike. Tourists on a lookout for fun can also visit the Sandcastle Waterworld, which is situated opposite Pleasure Beach.

Blackpool Opera House - Must Visit Destination

If you are on a Blackpool holiday, then you should definitely make a visit to the world famous Blackpool Opera House Theatre. Originally built in 1889, this theatre underwent 2 major renovations, to be finally opened in its present form in 1939. The theatre is located within the Winter Gardens, which is a large entertainment complex in the town centre. The Opera House which is considered to be one of the largest theatres in the United Kingdom, has a capacity of housing around 3000 people at a time. This theater has also hosted performances by many world famous musicians like Frank Sinatra. Apart from music shows and concerts, the Opera house also hosts a large number of theatrical performances.
