Lil Wayne was born with the birth name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. on September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His talents were discovered at an early age, as he wrote his first rap song at the age of eight. He dismissed his studies at the age of 14, even though he was an honor student. He was mentored by rapper Bryan Williams, and at the age of 15, joined Hot Boys, with rappers Juvenile, Turk and B.G. The group recorded their debut album, "Get It How You Live" in 1997.Despite being successful in the career, the group parted ways in 2001. To continue his education, Wayne pursued higher education online and majored in psychology from the University of Phoenix, and earned the degree with high grades.Lil Wayne
was arrested many times in charges of felony for possessing drugs and weapons, and the fugitive charges were dropped later. On January 23, 2008, Lil Wayne was arrested from his tour bus, on four charges of felony by possessing narcotic and dangerous drugs, and illegal weapons. While out of custody under $10,185 bond, Wayne was detained at the Falfurrias border checkpoint on December 18, 2009, for possessing marijuana. Based on these, Lil Wayne was sentenced to three years of probation on June 30, 2010.

Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae, was born when he was 15 years, to his high school girlfriend Antonia Toya Carter. They married in 2004 and divorced in 2006. In 2008, it was speculated that Lil Wayne daughter, who was nine years old then, died in a car crash.
