Michael Jackson was born to African American working class parents, Joseph and Katherine Jackson on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. The famous pop singer Janet Jackson is his sister. Jackson started singing at the age of five with his siblings in "The Jackson 5", and rose to fame in the field of music and was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most successful entertainer. While Elvis Presley is the King of Rock and Roll, Michael Jackson is the King of Pop. Throughout his life, he was frequently photographed and followed by the paparazzi and was accused of child molestation charges a number of times. He married Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley and later married his friend Deborah Rowe.
Michael Jackson Thriller - A Historic Bestseller
Michael Jackson’s Thriller is the best selling music album of all time released on November 30, 1982. With around 110 million copies sold out, the album has nine songs, of which seven reached the Billiard Hot 100’s top 10. It won eight Grammy awards at the 1984 Grammys. The song “Thriller” from the album is the most popular of the Michael Jackson songs, the video of which lasts 14 minutes. It is the greatest music video ever made and the Guinness World Records enlisted the video as the most successful music video. In 2009,
Michael Jackson Thriller became the first music video to be honoured by the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
Michael Jackson Death
Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009, at his home in Los Angeles, California. The cardiac arrest occurred due to the reaction of the drugs propofol and lorazepam in his body. Jackson did not react to the CPR administered by his personal physician Conrad Murray. Paramedics took him to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. On August 28, 2009, the Los Angeles County Coroner declared Jackson’s death a homicide. This raised a lot of controversy and Conrad Murray was charged for involuntary manslaughter.
