Morocco Tourism - Alive and Kicking in Beautiful Marrakech

Marrakech, located in the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region, is one of the biggest reasons why Morocco toruism is in full vibrant swing. The city is chock full of both historical and cosmopolitan attractions that any tourist will be hard-pressed to choose which ones to visit, especially those with limited time. For architectural sights, the Bab Agnaou, Dar Si Said, the Medina fountains, and the Koutoubia Minbar are must-visit sites. Visitors who wish to visit historical attractions should spend at least an afternoon at either the Badi Palace, Bahia Palace, the fondouqs in the Medina, and the Saadian tombs. Religious sights such as the Koutoubia Minaret and the Mellah are are just some of the jewels of Morocco tourism.

Visit Morocco - Casablanca's Old World and Modern Charms

Any fan classic Hollywood cinema cannot visit Morocco without stopping by the famed city of Casablanca. There are tons of things to do there, from doing a bit of retail therapy at Ancienne Medina Hammam and Quartier Habous. Aside from getting some authentic keepsakes at Central Market, visitors can also hold scenic picnic on the beach, with rows of delis and stores selling fresh produce. The Boulevard de la Corniche can provide anyone a peaceful and relaxing day at the beach as well. For the more urbane visitor, this area also offers the upscale bars, clubs, hotels and restaurants. No wonder why it has earned a reputation as the entertainment cenbter of the city. If your reason to visit Morocco is to admire historical buildings, the site to go is Casablanca is the Cathedrale du Sacre Coeur. Erected in the 1930s and displays a mix of Moroccan and European architectural styles. It has been a theatre, school and center for culture and is now rundown, but still maintains its rustic charms.

Travel to Morocco for the Music in Essaouira

For anyone into good music, one good reason to travel to Morocco is in the town of Essaouira, which hosts the Gnaoua Festival of World Music. This annual event usually lasts from three to four days and is held every final week of June. Musical artists and aficionados of Gnaoua (also sometimes spelled as Gnawa, which is traditional music from the Sub-Saharan African region), reggae, jazz, and rock music converge in what most people lovingly refer to as Morocco's version of the Woodstock.
