Pittsburgh is popular for hosting numerous concerts and rocks shows. The highest credit for Pittsburgh concerts goes to DiCesare and Engler whose names have gone down in history as the top grossing concert promoters in the country. The DiCesare - Engler Productions formed in 1973 when concert promoter DiCesare and Pittbsurgh drummer Engler came together in a partnership. The two owned and operated several avenues including the Stanley Theatre, the IC Light Amphitheatre, the Syria Mosque, the Bud Light Amphitheatre, the AJ Palumbo Center and the Aladdin Theatre. Pittsburgh concerts flourished ranging from major rock acts to celebrated traditions such as the Celebration of Lights. Under the capable administration of the duo, the Stanley Theatre became the top grossing theatre which also showcased Bob Marley’s last concert performance in 1980.
