Wales Attractions - Must Visit Places in Wales

Second largest park in Britain and the highest mountain peak of the country, Mt. Snowdon is one among the famous Wales attractions. This place attracts thousands of mountaineers and adventure enthusiasts from all over the world. Pembrokeshire coast national park and Brecon Beacons National Park also boasts of beautiful coastline and enticing mountains and are definitely worth a visit. Wales is historically significant and hence one must visit the various museums like St. Fagans National History Museum, The National Museum, etc. to catch a glimpse of that era. Few world heritage sites like Blaenavon Industrial Landscape, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, etc., are also famous Wales Attractions. Do take your children out to Oakwood Theme Park, Techniquest, Folly Farm, etc., where they can indulge in fulfilled activities.

Castles in Wales - Eminent Castles

There are more than 400 castles in Wales but most of them are mere ruins now. But more than 100 castles are in upright condition. However, you will have to make your choices as you cannot visit all of them in single trip. Some of the oldest castles can be found in places like Bridgent, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Caerphilly, etc. These castles date back to 11th century and possess very distinct architecture. You can visit the Cardiff Castle, Candlestone Castle, Caerphilly Castle, etc. Few of the well preserved castles in Wales built by King Edward are Conwy Castle, Beaumaris Castle, Rhuddlan Castle, etc., and these are renowned tourist’s destinations.

Events in Wales - Information

Those interested in art and culture can plan their trip during the famous events in Wales like Brecon Jazz festival, Cardiff singer of the World Competition, Wakestock Music Festival, Swansea Festival of Music and Arts, Sesiwn Fawr World Music Festival, etc. The Swansea Bay Film Festival is one of the country’s largest film festivals and attracts a lot of visitors. National Eisteddfod Language Festival is a weeklong event and lot of people attend the same every year. The famous International Eisteddfod Festival of Music and Dance is also one among the celebrated events in Wales. Few other well-known festivals are Dylan Thomas Festival, Faenol Festival, etc.
